Pre-Planning

If you are not needing care now but are planning for the future….we’re here to help. We feel we are uniquely qualified to help you plan the finances, insurance and pre-select care the arrangements. Why? Because unlike most advisers, we help clients everyday who are in the throws of a major medical issue and needing the care now. We see first hand what it really costs, how to save money, how to ensure quality care and what insurance coverage is necessary and what isn’t.

What we can do to help you get a plan in place:

We start by explaining the different types of care arrangements. We provide you information about their costs, what to expect in terms of services and what types of care need is appropriate for each. We help you to decide which arrangement you prefer given different care circumstances.

We explain how Medicare, Medi-Cal, VA benefits, Reverse Mortgages, Long Term Care Insurance and coming changes related to Health Care Reform can fit into care planning. When each program can help and what their limits are. We guide you on which financial moves can help and which can hinder your eligibility.

We’ll review together your financial resources and design a financial care plan to help you be prepared in case care needs arise. Many advisors prepare their clients for retirement but fail to build in adequate plans for long term care. We believe in planning for the “perfect storm.” In other words, the plan must be able to handle the worst case scenario. If life turns out better than that …great, but if the highest care needs are needed for a long period of time, our plan would be designed to handle it.

We will help you evaluate whether long term care insurance is appropriate for you. Long term care Insurance isn’t for everyone…it can be expensive and oftentimes there are enough other resources that we can make an adequate plan without it.

Reviewing the plan with the rest of your family…if you want, we can be present when you share your plan with those family members that you want to be involved.

This one step can be a great help in reducing anxiety and the worry you may have about your future.
